Actual Media Inc., a prominent publisher of infrastructure, water and environment publications is thrilled to announce its acquisition of Waste & Recycling Magazine – a media brand that provides information on the collection, hauling, processing, and disposal industries across Canada.
Waste & Recycling was launched as Solid Waste & Recycling magazine in 1996 by Actual Media President Todd Latham and his business partners at the time. Over the last 27 years it transferred ownership and changed its name, but in a fortuitous twist of fate, Actual Media has brought the recycling publication back into the hands of its original founders.
Actual Media, the publisher of ReNew Canada, Water Canada, and Environment Journal, is also excited to welcome Waste & Recycling editor Emily Atkins, MA, to the team.
Emily Atkins, editor of Waste & Recycling magazine, Actual Media’s new acquisition.
Emily has been editing Waste & Recycling since 2017. She is an accomplished editor and freelance writer. “I’m looking forward to joining Actual Media as the editor of Waste & Recycling. This is an important and vibrant industry, and the subject matter is a great fit with Actual’s existing titles.”
The addition of Waste & Recycling magazine to Actual Media’s portfolio is a strategic move that aligns perfectly with the company’s mission and values. Waste & Recycling complements the existing suite of publications and events under the Environment Journal brand and bolsters Actual Media’s commitment to high-quality environment content and industry intelligence.
“This publication holds a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to welcome it back into our family,” said Todd Latham. “We are confident that Waste & Recycling Magazine will thrive within our environmental portfolio and believe by integrating this magazine into our platform, we can deliver exceptional new value to our readers and partners.”
