The Canadian Environmental Assessment Act

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Act was proclaimed as law to replace EARP and to strengthen EIA in Canada. The Act established a more comprehensive framework for assessing the environmental impacts of proposed projects, incorporating public participation and expanding the scope of assessments to include both federal and provincial projects. It aimed to ensure that environmental considerations were integrated into decision-making processes at all levels of government.
