The History of Environment in Canada

Canada was the first country to ratify the Stockholm Convention, a global treaty designed to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as PCBs and DDT. These pollutants are particularly concerning in the Arctic, where Indigenous communities rely on traditional foods that can accumulate harmful levels of POPs.
