The History of Environment in Canada

The Lac-Mégantic rail disaster occurred in Quebec, Canada, on July 6, 2013. An unattended freight train carrying crude oil derailed and exploded in the town center, resulting in 47 deaths and the destruction of most of the downtown area. The explosion and subsequent fire had a significant blast radius, causing widespread damage and contamination.
