The History of Environment in Canada

The Ozone Annex to the Canada-U.S. Air Quality Agreement was signed to reduce transboundary flows of air pollutants that cause smog. This agreement focused on cutting emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the primary precursors to ground-level ozone, which contributes to smog formation and poses significant health and environmental risks.
