Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter

Canada became a party to the Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (1972). Known as the London Convention, it was among the first global treaties to protect the marine environment from human activities; halting the dumping of industrial and radioactive waste at sea.
