In his 2012 blog post titled ‘Environmentalism has failed,’ David Suzuki opined that environmentalists failed to go beyond the focus on wilderness protection that was so central to the first wave of environmentalism. He suggested that while we may have achieved some individual successes, environmentalists have failed to provide a comprehensive set of answers to fundamental issues of development and environmental protection.
