The Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA) is an Ontario law that shifts waste management planning and responsibility to producers of products. As of 2019, some municipalities were transitioning to this Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) model, with full implementation expected by 2022.
