The Women’s Environmental Group (WEG) is a new industry initiative that aims to connect women working in the environment sector. Join us to tackle critical issues, provide a platform for mentorship and networking, and support women working in the environment sector.
Founding partners include Environment Journal and Milestone Environmental Contracting and promotional partners so far are ECO Canada and Environmental Risk Information Services (ERIS).
WEG will leverage our existing platforms to support membership goals and objectives. This includes active participation by partnership representative(s) at six meetings annually and collaboration for key events and activities.
The initial activities we plan to initiate include the following
- Communications to announce the launch of WEG (January and February 2025).
- Organizational meeting on February 5th.
- Kick-off meeting on Wednesday, March 5th (ahead of International Women’s Day) will feature introductory remarks, introductions, a featured speaker, Q&A, and conversation on next steps.
The featured speaker will be Judy Lam, MBA, CMA, CPA, Manager, City of Hamilton and Brownfielder of the Year.
