Environmental Summit sets the tone for innovation and collaboration in the industry

The Environmental Summit, presented by the Environmental Services Association of Alberta (ESAA), recently took place at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. The two-day Summit included inspiring keynote presentations, technical panel discussions, networking receptions and the ESAA Annual General Meeting.

Todd Latham, President of Actual Media (Environment Journal‘s parent company), brought his trademark energy and insight as emcee of this year’s Summit. “This event set the tone for collaboration, innovation, and an exciting future for Canada’s environmental sector. Actual Media is proud to support events that advance environmental understanding, leadership, and action,” said Latham.

The three-day event featured nine panel discussions on a range of topics, including the evolution of energy, PFAS management, disaster management, the future of water, Indigenous perspectives, ecological issues and climate resiliency, with a focus on impacts to environment industry professionals. 

The three keynote presentations were:

    Dr. Glynnis Hood, Wildlife Ecology and Management, University of Alberta
  • From Strategy to Savings: ERA’s Strategic Energy Management for Industry (SEMI)
    Luca Jungen, Emissions Reduction Alberta
  • Achieving Your Full Potential
    Catriona Le May Doan, Canadian Olympic Gold Medallist, President and CEO of Sport Calgary

Todd Latham of Actual Media Inc. enjoyed his role as emcee for ESAA’s Environmental Summit.

ESAA, which was established in 1987, has over 200 member organizations and has grown to become one of Canada’s leading environment industry associations. The Environmental Summit is just one of the conferences ESAA presents to provide important educational and networking opportunities.
