Emerging Technology for Increased Water ReUse

Municipal and industrial users throughout Alberta are seeking solutions for the reuse of wastewater in the face of declining surface water flows and increased frequency of of drought conditions. Conventional technologies for wastewater treatment historically focused on achieving environmental discharge criteria, however water reuse requires the application of more advanced and robust treatment technologies that meet stringent criteria for process feed and human consumption.

The panel will stimulate interest and audience participation regarding the role of advanced water treatment technology to alleviate water shortages within Alberta.  The panelists will introduce a number of case studies that are relevant to the reuse of a variety of wastewater streams. Audience members will be able to bring specific challenges to the discussion and challenge the panel members to draw upon their collective experience on hundreds of projects.
